Here you'll find answers to frequently asked questions to help guide your choir through the audition and show participation process.

Eligibility
Who can audition for Choral Clash?

Any vocal group of at least 10 members is eligible to audition. We welcome :

  • Community choirs
  • School choirs
  • Company choirs
  • Independent music groups
  • Church choirs (the show is not limited to gospel)

International
Is Choral Clash just for Cameroonian choirs?

No. Although Choral Clash is based in Cameroon, choirs from all over the world are welcome to audition and take part, provided they can commit to the schedule and travel if selected.

Video
What type of video should we submit for the audition?

Submit a 2-minute audition video showing your choir performing one or two songs. The video must not have been published on social networks. Make sure it is of good audio and visual quality.

Musical genre
Is there a specific musical genre to perform?

No. Choral Clash celebrates musical diversity. You can perform any genre: traditional, classical, jazz, pop, gospel, afrobeat or fusion - just surprise us with your creativity!

Age
Is there an age limit for participants?

There is no no age limit. However, any member of your choir under the age of 16 must submit a signed parental or guardian consent form with the application.

Multi-Video
Can we submit several audition videos?

No. Each choir must submit a single audition video. Choose your best performance that best represents your group.

Not selected
And if we're not selected - can we still take part?

Yes ! Even choirs that have not been selected for the main competition are still eligible to take part. Audience Favourite Award based on their engagement on social networks. Encourage your community to support your publication.

Favourite Public
How is the Audience Favourite Award determined?

The Public's Favourite is the choir with the most social network interaction (likes, comments, shares, views) on our official platforms. Engagement counts from the moment your video is published right through to the final.

Fees
Are there any registration or audition fees?

No. Auditions are completely free. There is no charge for submitting your video or taking part in the show if you are selected.

After submission
What happens after we submit our video?

  • Your video will be examined by our panel of judges.
  • Selected choirs will be contacted by email or telephone.
  • The finalists will be announced on our website and social networks.

A Cappella
Can we use instrumental tracks or does the music have to be a cappella?

You are free to perform a cappella or with instrumental accompaniment (live or pre-recorded), as long as the voices of your choir remain at the centre of the performance.

Submission
Where should we send our audition video?

Download details and the official submission link/form will be provided on our website and social networks. Please ensure that your contact details and choir biography are included.

Travel
Do we have to travel to the show if we are selected?

Yes. The selected choirs will need to be available for filming in person in Cameroon. We will share schedules and help with logistics wherever possible.

Hosting
Will travel or accommodation be covered?

Although basic support may be offered, choirs are generally responsible for their own transport and accommodation, unless otherwise specified by the organisers.

Rights
Who owns the rights to our video and performances?

By submitting a video, you grant Choral Clash the rights to use it for promotional purposes on our platforms. However, please note your choir retains credit and ownership of its performance.
